Feeling inspired, I have spent most of my weekend working on my own work. I came across a nice web building platform recently - www.squarespace.com so decided to transfer my portfolio website to this. My website was in desperate need of attention. I built it myself a few years ago and was just feeling tired and old fashioned. I do love the simplicity and wanted less as possible to distract from the images. With squarespace I have been able to add social media links and a small about me page with a few lines about my professional background. The views of my site had been going up since networking and think it is important to get the right information out there.
The website is really easy to use and there is so much you can fiddle about with. There are a good mix of clean modern templates. I have stripped everything back on mine to be simple and sweet. It's been good fun actually. They offer a 14 day free trial to have a play around.
When I am ready to show the world, I will give a official release post with a few highlights! So excited to show people my Asia series.
What struck me as editing new work, I have a collection of images that are all related to 'days out' and tourism. I always see some humour in tourists, they have a certain type of fashion and always squinting at something. I guess this is a Martin Parr influence. I don't think there is enough good content yet to make a gallery for these but now i have spotted this I am going to concentrate adding to it over the summer.
