| Doesn't feel right to post without a picture - this no reflection on my state of mind!! This is another day of crazy weather in London. |
For the last 5 weeks since I left my post as Studio Manager, I have been very busy working freelance, meeting lots of people, getting MY face out there and talking about potential employment. Also spending lot more time growing my "personal branding" to buildup my contacts, which has already proven to be successful.
Through the mighty power of LinkedIn, I have been on a few huge photoshoots as production assistant, which I can't even talk about as I signed a confedential form - it's that top secret. I will say one had a crew of 30 people on location, quite a small location at that. Hectic at points which I loved. The day really enforced production is definitely what I want to do. It was interesting to be on set for the first time without being with the photographer's crew and having different responsibilities.
I won't lie, I had had my up and down days, some days just don't seem to go right and being near the end of the year it is quiet, but overall I have been really positive and excited about my new situation. What's been great is having some distractions like the odd afternoon out to a exhibition or to go to the theatre - got some right corkers coming up!

ahh that sounds so exciting! Congrats, Emily and I'm glad you're off to a good start! I bet the idea of freelancing was a little daunting at first but hopefully this is reassuring you that you've made the right move!
