Hello! I returnth yet again to my neglected blog.
As of last week I had my last day as studio manager for a leading photographer. It was hard decision to leave after 5 years of being in a family like community, to go out into the world with no permanent employment lined up. I came to the decision it is time to focus on me, on my career and future.
I want to focus on production, it's what I'm good at. I have already quite a good start in producing in my background but time to build that and be involved in bigger projects.
It's a new change and this week I have been settling in. It is jolly nice to work from a cafe! One of my leaving presents was a ipad. My view as I type is of the British Library from Starbucks, which is equally a nice place to work if not a bit busy during weekdays.
My first week has been full of admin, setting up a small office at home and research, research, research. I'm setting up meetings, possible freelance work, financing and joining up to some courses. Lot of reading and listening to Ken Bruce too.
So it's all exciting times ahead, I thought this blog would be a good thing to document what I'm up to and things I learn and experience along the way. It's the first time I've been in London with free time on week days so planning lots of day trips. Reviews of the winter exhibitions that are opening now, theatre, film, seminars. I might even get inspired to release some of my own creative output!
