A fashion/beauty photographer, you need to keep up to date with the latest models - who is looking good, new on the scene, in town if not from the UK. I keep a record of girls we like, we can refer to if occasionally a client asks for recommendations for a particular shoot. My boss is usually too busy to do this so I regularly set up castings with all the major model agencies. Agencies will also contact me if they have girls they think we would like, photographers don't necessarily have a 'type' but there are certain faces that suit their style.
I am quite picky so I ask a 'package' first which is a small selection of images and polaroids of each model. If not I could get 30 models in a day, which I have had before and I can't get any of my other work done.
Here are a few examples. Sometimes it's just a quick photo on a phone, others I set up lighting and use my Fuji x100 or Nikon D4 if it's kicking around. I can't resist adding a treatment and tinkering with the tones.
